The cycling race “Fausto Coppi” sponsored by Selle San Marco is an important event for cyclists, one of the toughest and fascinating race on the spectacular roads of the province of Cuneo. The event will be hold on July 8, and celebrates this years the 25. edition.
198 km the long race, 111 km the medium race and a course that, in the purest style of “La Fausto Coppi Selle San Marco” and its prestigious tradition, are planned to make the race a unique and exciting experience. The difference in altitude for the toughest race is 4500 m, 2500 m for the medium race, with the highest peak fixed at 2485 m asl of Fauniera Pass. This pass is one of the most fascinating and difficult climbs of the Alps: about 22 km in progression, with an average gradient of 8% but with a peak of 14%!
Known in Italy and in Europe s one of the greatest classics, must for the cycling fans, the race “La Fausto Coppi Selle San Marco” puts a strain on the athletes and – in many places – brings them on the roads and places dear to the Champion Fausto Coppi that gives the name to this competition.
